Haematology Case

Peripheral blood cell morphology

Case: 67 yerars old woman from Albania has been suffering of weakness and frequent infections during last six months. Now she has a fewer and bruices in her hands and legs. BBC shows low haemoglobin and high leukocytes. A shot of peripheral blood smear is in the image.

Can you identify these three cells?





















CORRECT ANSWER: A) micromegakaryocyte, neutrophil and C) blast. This patient has myelofibrosis turning to acute leukemia.
