Biomedical laboratory scientists make list of Top 100 scientists in UK
Congratulations! A Great recognition to the profession and these two scientists.
Sandra Richards MSc CSci MIBMS and Diane Anderson MIBMS have been voted on to the Science Council's list of 100 leading UK practising scientists.
The list features 100 leading examples of practising scientists, highlighting the many different ways in which scientists make a valuable contribution to society and the economy in the UK. The Science Council's list identifies individual scientists who have shown integrity, professional skill and judgement in their work and have contributed to their profession and the future of their subject through their leadership.

Can you identify this blood cell?
Peripheral blood cell morphology
Case: 66 years old carpenter from Albania is suffering weight loss, weakness, frequent infections and breathlessness. Basic blood count was taken and low haemoglobin and leukocytosis were the key findings. Peripheral blood smear findings are in the image.
CORRECT ANSWER: Hairy cell (lymphocyte). This patient has hairy cell leukemia.
