MD Ph.D. Kristin Moberg Aakre: The importance of pre-analytical EQA on Labquality Days
Kristin Aakre is a Consultant at the Laboratory of Clinical Biochemistry, Haukeland University Hospital, Bergen, Norway and a Consultant at the Norwegian Clinical Chemistry EQA program, Haraldsplass Diakonale Hospital, Ulriksdal, Bergen.
She is the Chairman of the Norwegian Society of Medical Biochemistry Workgroup on critical values and a representative for the Norwegian Medical Association (OF), Laboratory of Clinical Biochemistry, Haukeland University Hospital. She is a corresponding member of the EFCC Workgroup on cardiac markers and one of the editors of Klinisk Biokemi i Norden. Kristin Aakre is a member of the EFCC Workgroup on Guidelines and a Chairman of the Norwegian Society of Medical Biochemistry - Workgroup on implementation of high sensitive troponin analyses.
She is also a reviewer of three international journals.
Prof. Dr. med. Peter Bruno Luppa: The implementation of POCT quality standards optimizes the clinical process reliability
Peter Luppa is a Director of the Core Clinical Chemistry Laboratory in the Institute for Clinical Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry at the Klinikum rechts der Isar, München Germany.He is a reviewer for many international journals such as: Analytical Chemistry, Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine.
Professor Luppa is a member of Expert panel "Proteohormones", EU Community Bureau of Reference, Brusseles a member of Committee on Markers of Bone Turnover, Int. Federation of Clinical Chemistry, Wien, Chair of the expert panel "Point-of-care-testing“ of the Vereinte Gesellschaft für Klinische Chemie und Laboratoriumsmedizin and a member of the Vereinte Deutsche Gesellschaft für Klinsche Chemie und Laboratoriums-medizin and also a member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Endokrinologie.
Professor Luppa is a well known speaker in national and international congresses and he has more than 140 peer reviewed articles and reports. He is also a co-author of a book Patientennahe Labordiagnostik – POCT.
Professor Kim Pettersson: Options and challenges for decentralized diagnostics
Kim Petterson is a Professor in Biotechnology (Molecular Biotechnology). Department of Biochemistry and Food Chemistry/ Biotechnology, University of Turku, Finland.He is the PI of numerous research projects funded by TEKES, Academy of Finland, EU, and national and international companies.
He has been the Chair of the IFCC WG-PAPPA standardization committee since 2007 and also the Chair of the Indo-Finnish Diagnostic Research Centre, between University of Turku and Translational Health Science Research Institute (THSTI) since 2013.
Professor Petterson has 213 refereed publications and 17 different patents / patent application.
M.S. Tuija Sinervo: The competence of proficiency testing providers and Accreditation
Tuija Sinervo is a Lead Assessor at Finnish Accreditation Service (FINAS) convener in Medical field. She has a 15 year work experience of national and international audits and accreditation in laboratory field mainly in medical laboratoriesShe is a member of Finnish Advisory Committee for Clinical Audit set up by National Institute of Health and Welfare, a member of EA Laboratory Committee, a vice-chairman of EA Health Care Laboratory Medicine Working Group and a member of EA peer-evaluation teams in five different international peer-evaluations during years 2007-2013.
Dr. Oswald Sonntag: The future of quality control in modern medical laboratories and ISO 15189
Oswald Sonntag is an International Scientific and Professional Affairs Manager at Bio-Rad Laboratories in Munich Germany.
He
has over 90 publications in national and international scientific peer
reviewed journals. He is an author of three books and a co-editor of
book series: "Patient Safety“ with deGruyter publisher, Germany.
Oswald Sonntag has given more than a 1000 national and international oral scientific presentations.
Dr. Cas Weykamp: Thoughts on the perfect EQA
Cas Weykamp is a clinical chemist and director of the MCA laboratory of
the Queen Beatrix Hospital in the city of Winterswijk, The Netherlands.
At a national level he is organiser of EQA (proficiencytest) programmes
in the medical laboratories and manufactures most of the required
specimens for these programmes in his ISO 13485 certified lab. Some EQA
programmes extend to an international level (e.g. HbA1c, tracé elements,
inborn erros of metabolism). Internationally he is active in the IFCC
(Member Committee Traceability in Laboratory Medicine, Network
Coordinator HbA1c, Network Coordinator CDT, Lecturer Visiting Lecturer
Programme) and the AACC (chair of task force to develop tools for the
AACC Harmonization Initiative).
