A Monument To The Laboratory Rats

At the heart of the Centre, a park near the Institute of Cytology and Genetics in Novosibirsk, a monument to the laboratory mouse, knitting strand of DNA.
According to the director of the Institute of academician Nikolai Kolchanov, the monument symbolizes gratitude for the animal that humanity has the ability to use mice to study the genes of animals, molecular and physical mechanisms of disease, the development of new drugs.

"It combines the image of the laboratory mouse, and a scientist, because they are related to each other and serve as one case. Mouse is captured in the moment of scientific discovery. If you look into her eyes, you can see that this little mouse has come up with something. But the whole symphony of scientific discovery, joy, "eureka" has not yet begun to sound "- described the project by its author, Novosibirsk artist Andrew Kharkevich.

Not likely. We don't know all of what happens at a basic biological level. We can't program what we don't know into a computer model. And, if we don't get it right? Garbage in, garbage out.
